Cara House stands out on the diminutive
Cara, with Islay in the background. Ownership of this island is by the
MacDonalds of Largie, a family that is in an unbroken line from the Lords of the Isles, who predate the establishment of the Kingdom of Scotland. At the extreme southern end of the 0.25 square-mile islet is Broonie's Chair, a rock formation that is, allegedly, a beneficial place to sit in order to have a wish granted by the resident brownie of long-standing, folklore tradition.
Scottish Islands Explorer - an unbroken line from January 2000.
