Here is the Auld Haa Guest House on Fair Isle. The 'Haa' on Shetland traditionally refers to the house of a laird and so it would customarily have had innovations incorporated within its construction. Perhaps the old / auld ways persist on some remoter islands and glens, but BT has counted almost a third of a million wi-fi hotspots in Scotland.
