The Chestnut-eared Bunting, last seen on Fair Isle some eight years ago, has returned to these shores and been noted in Shetland, at Pool of Virkie. This is the second-ever sighting in the UK and the third-ever in Europe. It is normally resident in the Far East, but then other creatures have been coming to the far north, whether a humpback whale or a pod of dolphins.
