Some islands have remarkable profiles, but this somewhat hazy group on the horizon is very difficult to identify. Will anyone provide the authentic answer to the whereabouts of this image of some of the Western Isles?

The Treshnish Isles viewed from Coll/Tiree ferry?
Six 'islands' with flat tops and mostly concave 'sides', in Scotland??????
Hmmm!
John
Authentic and in Scotland, although the light and heat on a summer's day could be playing tricks on the lens.
I said 'Treshnish Isles' to the photographer, but was wrong.
Perhaps NOT six separate isles? How a bout a trick of the light, causing an apparent splitting of a single island?
I'll try Staffa from the Coll/Tiree ferry!
Getting warm ... with a trick of the light. Go north ... as far as Lewis.
How about The Shiants from the Tarbert to Uig ferry?
Certainly on the right lines, but on the wrong side of the island.
Taransay?
Head north over the Harris / Lewis boundary.
Soay?
Sea-fog over Mealista?
Sea-fog over Mealista?
With all your kind clues, these have got to be The Flannan Isles?
Correct island, but photographed from where?
Correct island, but photographed from where?
If Gallan Head in foreground, perhaps the photo was taken from Pabay Mòr.
The prize goes to one of our more distant blog-observers ... Marc Calhoun from Seattle. The 'full story' will be on-line in about an hour's time.
