Cold Spring Decline
Jane Barlow's photograph of this gannet, with the Bass Rock, gives an appropriate signal - for the bird is on its own. The cold spring-weather of 2013 has taken its toll of a range of Scottish sea-birds and the decline could have far-reaching effects.
