As time has gone by by the Orkney authorities have become aware of their responsibilities for archaeological and marine sites. The latter deteriorate quicker and so the need for a full survey and finer detailed mapping has become apparent. Matters are in hand in relation to Scapa Flow, according to this item in The Orcadian.
