The actor,
Francis Matthews, died on 14 June aged 86. His long career included roles in Hammer Studio productions of horror films, as Paul Temple in the BBC series and as the voice of Captain Scarlet. In 1962 he met his wife,
Angela Browne, who died in 2001, on the set of the BBC's six-part televion mini-series,
The Dark Island. It was filmed mainly in South Uist, but focused on
Benbecula, some of which is captured on this
