Stanley Cursiter (1887 - 1976) was born in Kirkwall, but came to live in, and love, Stromness. His reputation as an influential artist will be tested at Bonham's in Edinburgh today when a recently discovered painting is auctioned. Further details are featured in The Orcadian.
