Foreshore Sheep

The 13-mile dyke on North Ronaldsay was designed to keep the island sheep on the foreshore. Here their seaweed-eating habits give the resulting mutton a special flavour. The process is in danger because the storms of December 2012 damaged sections of the wall. An Action Plan is being drawn up and details are in The Orcadian.
