Yesterday, while Mercury was in transit across the sun and the temperatures were high throughout Britain - including at
Camas Daraich (above) in the south of Skye - it was time to reflect on contrasts. Late last month a party of four hill-climbers had to be winched to safety from a ledge on nearby
Bla Bheinn (below). They had misjudged the terrain, the temperatures, wind-speed and fading daylight. The
West Highland Free Press covered the incident.
