It was almost 30 years ago - in 1987 - when 390,000
boxes of whitefish were set down and sold in
Shetland. Since then supplies have dropped, but in 2016 the figure of 357,101 reflected the current abundant stocks. More was landed on the islands during the year than in England, Wales and Northern Ireland combined. Read about the marine cornucopia in
