Making Waves
Some large waves are there to be seen and to create awe as well as fear. Some just come and go, usually undetected in mid-ocean. However, a buoy off the Outer Hebrides recorded the highest wave of its sort - at over 62'. Others have been higher and the updated compilation of information is on the BBC website.
