In recent years, Shetland's Out Skerries has had its tiny secondary school closed, its primary school mothballed and its air service to Tingwall suspended. The educational changes involved a lack of pupils; the loss of aircraft was owing to insufficient volunteers as airstrip firefighters. Now eight people have come forward for training and flights will be resumed at a future date. Read the item in Shetland News and consider, when possible, flying in.
