Scarba, to the north of Jura, is almost 3650 acres in size. It has a hunting lodge in the north-east and a simple bothy (above) to the south-east, overlooking the
Gulf of Corryvreckan (below).
Marc Calhoun has written about the island and
Martin Martin visited it in the 17th Century, reporting that one resident, allegedly 140 years of age, was of a sound mind.
