The
Community Hall and
Post Office on the
Isle of Rum could become attractive facilities for newcomers who are being sought to boost the population. It currently
totals 22 and more are needed to make that important difference, particularly in keeping the school open. News of the appeal is in

Guiridil (below) at an extreme part of the island, no longer has permanent residents, but is one of two places of local accommodation maintained by the
Mountain Bothies Association.
