Protected Status Request

Twageos Point, Lerwick, (photographed by Richard Webb for Geograph) looks like an attractive part of the town on the Sound of Bressay. In January 1745 it was the site of the sinking of the Drottningen af Sweridge - Queen of Sweden - the flagship of the Swedish East India Company. The vessel was sailing from Stockholm to Cadiz in Spain and was then due to continue to China. All members of the crew were saved. Now protected status for this historical marine wreck is the subject of a consultation. See the BBC website account.
