Filling Up on Skye

One of the 'Routes to the Isles' involves taking the Skye Bridge and crossing the island to the ferry terminal at Uig. Filling up with food and petrol is a long-standing tradition that has been hampered by the temporary closure of the full fuel services at the Broadford Co-op. Now, after a £3.5 million refurbishment programme, the pumps and store are completely ready for custom. At Portree (below) is the larger Co-operative supermarket. The Press and Journal assesses the significance of the Broadford re-opening.
