Illumination came late to St Kilda and the old series of photographs found on YouTube reinforces this impression. It's remarkable to think that the images, from the 1880s, were of British people, living in territorial waters, being depicted close to the 20th Century. Many thanks to two of our most loyal blog-watchers for enabling us to start the week somewhat in the past.
