Although Stroma, Caithness, was abandoned by its residents over 40 years ago, it still has that feel of an occupied island. There is just a little farming and a few holiday cottages, but it is certainly a place to see and savour. A trip is planned for Saturday 22 August with a walk from the quay to the lighthouse and back, with a stop-off at the former school for a sit-down and the experience of being a pupil there in the 1960s.
