If putting stones in place to create new and preserve existing sections of walls appeals, then do consider the North Ronaldsay Sheep Festival 2018. Volunteers are needed to assist in the maintenance of the 13-mile sheep dyke and subsidised accommodation is there to applied for here. The dates are 29 July - 10 August for the Festival and 30 April for applications to be made.
